I. POLICY

The San Francisco Police Department's members are its greatest asset. The Department has a responsibility to its members and the community to identify and assist members who show symptoms of job stress and/or personal problems. Such symptoms may be exhibited in problematic performance behaviors.

This order establishes policies and procedures governing the use of computers and the confidentiality of computer data.

I. POLICY 

The policy of the Department is to protect all confidential information from unauthorized disclosure and access and require responsible use of all computers, electronic mail and the Internet.

II. PROCEDURES 

A. USERNAMES AND PASSWORDS

This order establishes the policy by which sergeants monitor and periodically evaluate the performance of their officers, using the PIP binder, and outlines the responsibilities of lieutenants, captains, commanders, and deputy chiefs.

This order establishes the policies and procedures for the issuance and replacement of Department Identification cards and City and County of San Francisco Disaster Service Worker Identification Cards.

This order establishes policies regarding markings of identification on helmets, including placement, color and size of numbers, and specifies inspection duties of command and supervisory officers.
