DGO6.16 "Sexual Assaults"

This order establishes policies regarding investigations of sexual assault cases involving both adults and juveniles, and includes procedures for investigating, gathering evidence, obtaining medical treatment, and preparing incident reports.

DGO6.15 "Property Processing"

This order outlines procedures for processing of property for identification which includes evidence and non-evidence, narcotics, volatile or inflammable substances, and destructive devices.

A. RESPONSIBILITIES. The member who first receives or takes property is responsible for it until the item is processed as property for identification and is received at the district station or at the Property Control Section.

This order establishes policies regarding enforcement of Section 647c of the Penal Code and Section 22 of the Municipal Police Code and explains applicable guidelines and terms of each law.

A. ELEMENTS OF VIOLATION. It is the policy of the San Francisco Police Department that officers be able to articulate specific facts that support every element of Penal Code Section 647c and Municipal Police Code Section 22 before taking enforcement action

DGO6.09 "Domestic Violence"

6.09.01. PURPOSE

This order establishes Department policies regarding domestic violence incidents and outlines procedures for investigations as well as processing, and enforcing court orders.

6.09.02 POLICY

A. It is the policy of the San Francisco Police Department that members treat all acts of domestic violence as criminal conduct. When the elements of a crime exist, members shall make an arrest instead of using dispute mediation or other police intervention techniques.

DGO6.08 "Aggressive Soliciting"

The purpose of this order is to outline the procedures for enforcing Section 120-1 of the Municipal Police Code which outlaws certain types of conduct while soliciting persons.

A. Recently, the voters of the City and County of San Francisco approved an amendment (Section 120-1) to the Municipal Police Code that prohibits aggressive soliciting.
