24-036 San Francisco Ethics Commission SFPD "Statement of Incompatible Activities"

The San Francisco Police Department is required to provide its members with the SF Ethics Commission's "Statement of Incompatible Activities" each year. This document is intended to provide guidance to SFPD members about the kinds of activities that are incompatible with their public duties and are therefore prohibited.

24-032 APEC Ribbon

In November of 2023, the City & County of San Francisco hosted the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) which brought world leaders and thousands of visitors to our city. Due to the hard work of our sworn members, who worked hand in hand with numerous law enforcement agencies, San Francisco stood out once again as the world class city by the bay.

To recognize our sworn members for the dedication and professionalism they showed through long hours and cancelled days off, the department has approved a ribbon to recognize the commitment they show every day to our city .

24-030 Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Complaint Procedure

The purpose of this notice is to remind members of the EEO complaint procedure.

Department General Order 11.07.03, PROCEDURES states:

MEMBERS: Members may make a complaint whenever they reasonably believe they have been subjected to discrimination or harassment based on one or more of the protected categories listed in section 11.07 .01, Policy B., or have been subjected to retaliation.

24-029 Homeless Engagement Assistance Response Team (HEART)

The purpose of this Department Notice is to inform members of updated situations and contact times when requesting the Homeless Engagement Assistance Response Team (HEART).

HEART was launched on May 30, 2023, and consists of two practitioners and one supervisor per team that responds to citywide non-emergency, non-medical calls for people experiencing homelessness when there is no indication of crime, violence, threats, mental health, or medical need. Members may, through DEM dispatch, request HEART to respond to some of the following calls:

24-027 Revised Protocol for Release of SB 1421 and SB 16 Documents

The purpose of this directive is to announce the revised Protocols for Release of SB 1421 and SB 16 Documents, adopted by the Police Commission on September 11, 2023.

SB 1421 and SB 16 revised Penal Code section 832.7 to require law enforcement agencies to release certain personnel records upon receipt of a Public Records Act request. The Police Commission protocols establish the procedure that the San Francisco Police Department, the Police Commission, and the Department of Police Accountability shall follow in identifying and releasing qualifying records.

24-025 Statement of Economic Interests Filing

Certain sworn members and Professional Staff employees holding designated positions must disclose their financial interests as specified by their position’s disclosure category on a form called Statement of Economic Interests – Form 700. These public filings help officials and employees monitor their financial interests, identify when those interests might conflict with their government actions, and take steps to avoid conflicts of interests.
