This Department Notice provides policy guidance and enforcement procedures for public nudity violations as defined by:

• San Francisco Municipal Police Code § 154(b) Prohibiting Public Nudity
• California Penal Code § 314 Indecent Exposure
• California Penal Code § 647(a) Lewd Conduct in Public

Municipal Police Code § 154(b) Prohibiting Public Nudity

During the course of their duties, officers may come into contact with bodily fluids of others. This exposes officers to a risk of contracting contagious diseases such as hepatitis B, hepatitis C or HIV. Officers are reminded to, when practical, utilize available protective equipment to reduce the risk of infection. 

The California Highway Patrol (CHP), in cooperation with the California State Automobile Association (CSAA), sponsors the 10851 Award Program for all California law enforcement agencies. This program was designed to recognize law enforcement officers’ superior efforts in the recovery of stolen vehicles and the apprehension of vehicle thieves. During a twelve-month period, uniformed officers who meet any of the following criteria will receive recognition:

Purpose 
This Department Notice provides guidance to all members of the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) regarding changes to the Crime Data Warehouse (CDW) Report Writing System. Effective 05/13/2025, an upgrade to the CDW system will be implemented, requiring members to input additional information when preparing a Mental Health Detention Incident Report. 

Purpose 
This Department Notice serves to inform all members of the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) about the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Liaison Program, which provides district stations with dedicated resources to enhance interactions with individuals experiencing mental health issues, psychological distress, or emotional crises.

The purpose of this directive is to announce the revision of Department General Order 6.14, Psychological Evaluation of Adults, adopted by the Police Commission on April 16, 2025. The Police Commission agreed to a 30-business day implementation period and therefore, members will be held accountable for this policy starting May 29, 2025.
