I am pleased to present to you a NIBRS RMS informational video which covers what NIBRS is, some changes you can expect with the new RMS that will replace CDW, and its impact to SFPD and our San Francisco community.

NIBRS Certification is issued by the State when an agency meets both FBI and California DOJ reporting requirements.

24-091 Department General Order 10.02 "Equipment" Update Packet #107

The purpose of this directive is to announce the revision of Department General Order 10.02, Equipment, adopted by the Police Commission on April 17, 2024. The Police Commission agreed to a 45-business day implementation period and therefore, members will be held accountable for this policy starting June 21, 2024.

24-090 Update to Pop-up Network Acceptable Use Statement on Workstations and Phones

All SFPD members, swor and professional staff, must acknowledge the acceptable use policy each time they access an SFPD workstation and work issued cell phone. This acceptance is an agreement to follow all department policies when using SFPD equipment. The modified policy statement will be reflected on your devices on May 21, 2024. The policy is also stated below.

24-076 Transition to Benchmark Analytics for the Supervisory Use of Force and Firearm Drawing/Exhibiting Evaluation Forms

The Department is transitioning the Supervisory Use of Force and Drawing/Exhibiting Evaluation forms from Crime Data Warehouse to Benchmark Analytics. The goal of this transition is to increase the usability of Use of Force incident data while streamlining the completion and approval of evaluations for sworn staff.

24-071 Benchmark Stop Data System Change

The "Stop Made in Response To" field has a term that has potential to cause confusion for our members. The term "On-View" is being changed to "Required Action".

Required Action should be selected when a stop is made by a member for a felony crime in progress, misdemeanor crime of violence, misdemeanor property crime, or misdemeanor where a member can articulate a threat to public safety (reckless driving, driving under the influence), member of the public alerting them to an incident, or a person is in medical distress (physical or psychological).

24-070 Access to Reproductive Health Care Facilities Enforcement of San Francisco Police Code, Article 43

This purpose of this notice is to provide guidance for members when enforcing San Francisco Police Code Article 43, section 4304. Article 43 which expressly prohibits following or harassing any person within 25 feet of the entrance of a reproductive health care facility provided that the health care facility has complied with certain procedures.
