The Office of the Mayor has authorized a $250,000.00 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect(s) responsible for the thirty-year-old murder of Marissa Harvey. On Monday, March 27, 1978, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Marissa Harvey, 15 years old, who was here from New York to visit her sister, was dropped off in Golden Gate Park on 44th or 45th Avenue near the windmill to go horseback riding. Ms. Harvey failed to return home that evening or contact her sister. On Tuesday, March 28, 1978, at 1951 hours, Officers responded to 48th Avenue and Anza (Sutro Park) on a report of a dead body, and discovered Marissa Harvey's body, who had been murdered.
