DGO1.02 "District Boundaries"

This order describes the geographical boundaries of police districts in the City and County of San Francisco.

I. POLICY

The CENTRAL DISTRICT commences at a point on the water north of where Mission St. intersects with The Embarcadero and proceeding west on Mission St. (excluding both sides) to 3'' St.; north on 3rd St. (including both sides) to Market St.; west on Market St. (excluding both sides) to Powell St.; north on Powell St. (including both sides) to Geary St.; west on Geary St. (including both sides) to Larkin St.; north on Larkin St. (including both sides) to Bay St.; west on Bay St. (including both sides) to Van Ness Ave.; north on Van Ness Ave. (including both sides), and continuing north on the Municipal Pier Access Road (including both sides) to a point on the water just west of the Municipal Pier; east and south from a point on the water just west of the Municipal Pier, following the shoreline, to the origin at a point on the water north of where Mission St. intersects with The Embarcadero.

The SOUTHERN DISTRICT commences at a point on the water north of where Mission St. intersects with The Embarcadero, west on Mission St. (including both sides, except for any location within the Westfield Mall) to South Van Ness Ave.; north on South Van Ness Ave. (including both sides) to Market St.; west on Market St. (including both sides) to Duboce Ave.; east on Duboce Ave. (excluding both sides) to 13thSt.; east on 13thSt. (excluding both sides) to Division St.; east on Division St. (excluding both sides) to Vermont St.; south on Vermont St. (including both sides) to Mariposa St.; east on Mariposa St. (excluding both sides) extending to the water's edge beyond Terry Francois Blvd.; north along the water's edge to the point of origin at the intersection of Mission St. and The Embarcadero. The entire area of Treasure Island and Yerba Buena Island is under the command of Southern Station

The BAY-VIEW DISTRICT commences at a point on the water south of where Mariposa St. intersects with Terry Francois Blvd., proceeding west on Mariposa St. (including both sides); continuing west on an imaginary line from the 2000 block of Mariposa St. crossing Highway 101 to the 2200 block of Mariposa St. to Utah St.; south on Utah St. (including both sides and Fallen Bridge Park) to 18'hSt.; continuing southeast on an imaginary line to the centerline of Highway 101; south along the centerline of Highway 101 to its intersection with the centerline of Interstate Highway 280; southwest along the midpoint of Interstate 280 to an imaginary line extending north from the intersection of Cambridge St. and West View Ave.; south along that line to Cambridge St. and continuing south on Cambridge St. (including both sides) to the boundary of McLaren Park on the east side of Cambridge St.; east along the McLaren Park boundary, passing between McLaren Park proper and Louis Suffer Playground (including Louis Suffer Playground), to University St.; south on University St. (including both sides) to Mansell St.; east on Mansell St. (including both sides) to its terminus at San Bruno Ave.; east on an imaginary line from the terminus of Mansell St. at San Bruno Ave. to where it intersects the centerline of Highway 101; south along the centerline of Highway 101 to Bayshore Blvd.; southwest on Bayshore Blvd. (excluding both sides) to the county line; east along the county line to the water; north following the shoreline to the origin point on the water south of where Mariposa St. intersects with Terry Francois Blvd.

The MISSION DISTRICT commences at the intersection of Clipper St. and Portola Dr., extending north on Portola Dr. (including both sides) to Market St.; north and northeast on Market St.(including both sides) to Duboce Ave.; east on Duboce Ave. (including both sides) to 13th St.; east on 13th St. (including both sides) to Division St.; east on Division St. (including both sides) to Vermont St.; south on Vermont St. (excluding both sides) to Mariposa St.; west on Mariposa St.; (excluding both sides) continuing west on an imaginary line from the 2000 block of Mariposa St. crossing Highway 101 to the 2200 block of Mariposa St. to Utah St.; south on Utah St. (excluding both sides and Fallen Bridge Park) to 1 8thSt., southeast on an imaginary line to the centerline of Highway 101; south along the centerline of Highway 101 to Potrero Ave.; northwest on Potrero Ave. (including both sides) to Cesar Chavez St.; west on Cesar Chavez St. or its extension (including both sides) to Douglass St.; south on Douglass St. (including both sides) to Duncan St.; west on Duncan St. (including both sides) to Diamond Heights Blvd.; north and west on Diamond Heights Blvd. (including both sides) to Clipper St.; west on Clipper St. (including both sides) to the origin point at the intersection of Clipper St. and Portola Dr.

The NORTHERN DISTRICT commences at a point on the water due north of the extension of Lyon St. at its intersection with Old Mason St., extending south to and along Lyon St. (including both sides) to Palace Dr.; south from Palace Dr. (including both sides) from the city lot line between the Palace of Fine Arts and the Presidio to where Palace Dr. rejoins Lyon St.; south following Lyon St. (including both sides, but excluding Presidio property) to Broadway St.; east on Broadway St. (including both sides) to Divisadero St.; south on Divisadero St. (including both sides) to Waller St.; east on Waller St. (excluding both sides) to Buchanan St.; south on Buchanan St. (excluding both sides) to Hermann St.; east on Hermann St. (excluding both sides) to Laguna St.; north on Laguna St. (excluding both sides) to Waller St.; east on Waller (excluding both sides) to Octavia St.; south on Octavia St. (including both sides) to Market St.; northeast on Market St. (excluding both sides) to Larkin St.; north on Larkin St. (excluding both sides) to Golden Gate Ave.; west on Golden Gate Ave. (excluding both sides) to Polk St.; north on Polk St. (including both sides) to Geary St.; east on Geary St. (including both sides) to Larkin St.; north on Larkin St. (excluding both sides) to Bay St.; west on Bay St. (excluding both sides) to Van Ness Ave.; north on Van Ness Ave. (excluding both sides) and continuing north along the Municipal Pier Access Road (excluding both sides) to a point on the water just west of the Municipal Pier; west following the shoreline to the origin at a point on the water due north of the extension of Lyon St.

The PARK DISTRICT commences at the intersection of Geary Blvd. and Divisadero St. and proceeds west on Geary Blvd. (excluding both sides) to Stanyan St.; south on Stanyan St. (including both sides) to Fulton St.; west on Fulton St. (including both sides) to Arguello Bvd.; south on Arguello Blvd. (including both sides) to Conservatory Dr. West; south on Conservatory Dr. West (including both sides) to John F. Kennedy Dr.; east on John F. Kennedy Dr. (including both sides) to Nancy Pelosi Dr.; southeast on Nancy Pelosi Dr. (including both sides) to Bowling Green Dr.; south on Bowling Green Dr. (including both sides) to Martin Luther King Jr. Dr.; east on Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. (including both sides) to Kezar Dr.; southwest on Kezar Dr. (including both sides) to Lincoln Way; west on Lincoln Way (including both sides) to 7th Ave.; south on 7th Ave. (including both sides) to Laguna Honda Blvd.; south on Laguna Honda Blvd. (including both sides) to Portola Dr.; east and north on Portola Dr. (excluding both sides) to Market St.; north and northeast on Market St. (excluding both sides) to Octavia St.; north on Octavia St. (excluding both sides) to Waller St.; west on Waller St. (including both sides) to Laguna St.; south on Laguna St. (including both sides) to Hermann St.; west on Hermann St. (including both sides) to Buchanan St.; north on Buchanan St. (including both sides) to Waller St.; west on Waller St. (including both sides) to Divisadero St.; north on Divisadero St. (excluding both sides) to the origin point at the intersection of Divisadero St. and Geary Blvd.

The RICHMOND DISTRICT commences at the intersection of Divisadero St. and Broadway St., extending west on Broadway (excluding both sides) to the eastern boundary of the Presidio at Lyon St.; south along Lyon St. (including both sides, but excluding Presidio property) to Pacific Ave.; west following Pacific Ave. (including both sides) along the Presidio boundary to Julius Kahn Playground; north and west and south along the boundary between the Julius Kahn Playground and Presidio proper (including Julius Kahn Playground) to the southwest corner of the playground; west following Pacific Ave. (including both sides) along the Presidio boundary to its terminus at the origin of Spruce St.; west and south following the southern Presidio boundary to a point on Lobos Creek north of 24th Ave. and east of El Camino Del Mar; north and west along Lobos Creek, following the Presidio boundary, to the point where Lobos Creek enters the ocean; west and south along the shoreline (excluding Golden Gate National Recreation Area and Fort Miley) to the extended centerline of Lincoln Way to the water; east to Lincoln Way and continuing east on Lincoln Way (excluding both sides) to Kezar Dr.; northeast on Kezar Dr. (excluding both sides) to Martin Luther King Jr. Dr.; west on Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. (excluding both sides) to Bowling Green Dr.; north on Bowling Green Dr. (excluding both sides) to Nancy Pelosi Dr.; northeast on Nancy Pelosi Dr. (excluding both sides) to John F. Kennedy Dr.; west on John F. Kennedy Dr. (excluding both sides) to Conservatory Dr. West; northeast on Conservatory Dr. West. (excluding both sides) to Arguello Blvd.; north on Arguello Blvd. (excluding both sides) to Fulton St.; east on Fulton St. (excluding both sides) to Stanyan St.; north on Stanyan St. (excluding both sides) to Geary Blvd.; east on Geary Blvd. (including both sides) to Divisadero St.; north on Divisadero St. (excluding both sides) to the origin point at the intersection of Divisadero St. and Broadway St.

The INGLESIDE DISTRICT commences at the intersection of Potrero Ave. and-Highway 101; extending south along the centerline of Highway 101 to its intersection with the centerline of Interstate Highway 280; west along the centerline of Interstate 280 to an imaginary line extending north from the intersection of Cambridge St. and West View Ave; south to Cambridge St. and continuing south on Cambridge St. (excluding both sides) to the boundary of McLaren Park on the east side of Cambridge St.; east along the boundary of McLaren Park passing between the boundary of McLaren Park proper and Louis Sutter Playground (excluding Louis Sutter Playground) to University St.; south along University St. (excluding both sides) to Mansell St.; east on Mansell St. (excluding both sides) to its terminus at San Bruno Ave.; east on an imaginary line from the terminus of Mansell St. at San Bruno Ave. to where it intersects the centerline of Highway 101; south along the centerline of Highway 101 to Bayshore Blvd.; south on Bayshore Blvd. (including both sides) to the county line; west along the county line to San Jose Ave.; north on San Jose Ave. (excluding both sides) to the centerline of Interstate 280; north along the centerline of Interstate 280 to Geneva Ave.; northwest on Geneva Ave. (excluding both sides) to Ocean Ave.; northwest on Ocean Ave. (excluding both sides) to Faxon Ave.; north on Faxon Ave. (including both sides) to Monterey Blvd.; east on Monterey Blvd. (including both sides) to Yerba Buena Ave.; north on Yerba Buena Ave. (including both sides) to Miraloma Dr.; north on Miraloma Dr. (including both sides) to Portola Ave.; northeast on Portola Dr. (including both sides) to Clipper St.; east on Clipper St. (excluding both sides) to Diamond Heights Blvd.; southeast on Diamond Heights Blvd. (excluding both sides) to Duncan St.; east on Duncan St. (excluding both sides) to Douglas St.; north on Douglass St. (excluding both sides) to Cesar Chavez St.; east on Cesar Chavez St. or its extension (excluding both sides) to Potrero Ave.; southeast on Potrero Ave. (excluding both sides) to the origin point at the centerline of Highway 101. McLaren Park is entirely within the Ingleside district.

The TARAVAL DISTRICT commences at the intersection of Lincoln Way and 7th Ave., extending west on Lincoln Way (including both sides) and continuing west to a point on the west side of the Great Highway (including both sides) on the Golden Gate National Recreation Area boundary; south along the Great Highway (including both sides) to Skyline Blvd.; south along Skyline Blvd to the county line; east along the county line to San Jose Ave.; northeast on San Jose Ave. (including both sides) to the centerline of Interstate 280; north following the centerline of Interstate 280 to Geneva Ave.; west on Geneva Ave. (including both sides) to Ocean Ave.; west on Ocean Ave. (including both sides) to Faxon Ave.; north on Faxon Ave. (excluding both sides) to Monterey Blvd.; east on Monterey Blvd (excluding both sides) to Yerba Buena Ave ; north on Yerba Buena Ave. (excluding both sides) to Miraloma Dr.; north on Miraloma Dr. (excluding both sides) to Portola Dr.; northeast on Portola Dr.(excluding both sides) to Laguna Honda Blvd.; north on Laguna Honda Blvd. (excluding both sides) to 7th Ave.; north on 7th Ave. (excluding both sides) to the origin point at the intersection of 7th Ave. and Lincoln Way.

The TENDERLOIN DISTRICT commences at the intersection of Geary St. and Powell St.; west on Geary St. (excluding both sides) to Polk St.; south on Polk St. (excluding both sides) to Golden Gate Ave.; east on Golden Gate Ave. (including both sides) to Larkin St.; south on Larkin St. (including both sides) to Market St.; west on Market St. (including both sides) to South Van Ness Ave.; south on South Van Ness Ave. (excluding both sides) to Mission St.; northeast on Mission St. (excluding both sides, except for any location within the Westfield Mall) to 3rd St.; north on 31d St. (excluding both sides) to Market St.; southwest on Market St. (including both sides) to Powell St.; north on Powell St. (excluding both sides) to the origin point at the intersection of Powell St. and Geary St.

The AIRPORT BUREAU incorporates all land owned by the City and County of San Francisco and operated by the Airports Commission. This is developed and undeveloped land in San Mateo County. 

The AIRPORT BUREAU DISTRICT commences at the intersection of Old Bayshore Highway and South McDonnell Road at the northwest side of Millbrae Ave., extending northwest on the east side of Highway 101 (northbound) including both sides of South McDonnell Road to North McDonnell Road (including both sides) to South Airport Blvd. (including both sides) to the intersection of North Access Road and the west side of South Airport Blvd. to include Plot 16D, east on North Access Road to southeast on North Access Road to the intersection with the highway 380 North Access off ramp (excluding both sides) east on North Access Road to North Field Road (excluding both sides) east on North Access Road to the property line surrounding San Francisco Airport in the San Francisco Bay waters.

UNDEVELOPED LAND IN THE DISTRICT commences south of San Bruno Ave. at the Highway 380 off ramp to Highway 101 on the west side of the ramp to the east fence line of east 7th Ave.; south to the prolongation line of 1st Ave. east of the Cal Train easement east of San Felipe Ave. southeast to the prolongation line of San Juan Ave. southeast where it intersects with Madrone Ave.; east on Madrone Ave. to the east fence line of Bay St. behind Marina Vista Park; southwest to the east side property line of homes adjacent to undeveloped (city and county property) land on Cuardo Ave.; Corte Comoda Ct.; Lerida Ct.; Bayside Park, Corte Balboa Ct.; Corte Anna Ct. to Roblar Ave. to the eastside of Aviador Ave. past the Millbrae Canal to the northwest side of Millbrae Ave.
