SFPD Makes Arrest in Homeless Assault Caught on Video

On November 11, 2013, at approximately 4:43 am there was an assault on a homeless person in the area of Third and Bryant Streets in San Francisco. This assault was caught on video. KTVU Channel 2 aired footage of the assault and a police investigation was initiated shortly after.

Through the police investigation and various tips, the victim was identified along with a possible suspect. The suspect was contacted and detained at his residence in Oakland. The suspect spoke to police about the assault and was placed under arrest. He was arrested in the morning hours of November 15, 2013, and charged with seven counts of aggravated assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury. The suspect arrested in this case is Timothy Chase, 28 years of age from Oakland.
