San Francisco Police Academy’s 284th Class Graduation 012-25

The San Francisco Police Department’s 284th Recruit Class will be sworn in on Thursday, May 15, 2025, by San Francisco Police Chief Bill Scott. There are 32 graduating recruit officers. 31 of the officers are San Francisco Police Department officers. One of the officers is a University of California Police Department officer (UCPD). 16 graduates are bilingual and fluent in languages such as Spanish, Hindi, Urdu, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Burmese, Turkish, Farsi, and Cebuano.
The 284th Recruit Class has 18 members who have earned bachelor’s degrees and three who have earned associate degrees. Members of the class have previously been employed as emergency medical technicians (EMT) and teachers as well as those who have worked in the customer service, food, finance and trades industries to name a few. Three officers have served in the United States military in the US Army or the US Marine Corps.
The 284th Recruit Class marks the first time an SFPD Academy class has graduated more than 30 recruits since the 261st Recruit Class in February of 2019.
The 284th Recruit Class has completed 34 weeks of training. Following graduation, the newly sworn SFPD officers will begin a 16-week field-training program at various district stations.
