The Department introduces e-Palm Cards to enhance police effectiveness and efficiency, allowing officers to dedicate more time to patrol and community engagement. The use of e-Palm Cards aligns with Proposition E, a voter-approved public safety measure, which directs the Department to streamline administrative tasks and reduce redundant reporting.

This notice establishes the use of e-Palm Cards as a standardized tool for members to document incidents that do not require a written report or form. e-Palm Cards are accessible through an icon on department-issued cell phones, helping officers document incidents more efficiently. ePalm Cards consist of pre-printed prompts that members can use to dictate a variety of incidents on their Body Worn Cameras (BWC). The pre-printed prompts provide guidelines for the required information needed to document an incident on the BWC in lieu of writing an incident report or completing forms. Each pre-printed prompt is accompanied by policy guidelines for reference. Below are screenshots of the e-Palm Cards.
