23-157 Chiefs Community Police Advisory Forum (CCPAF)
Department Notice
The purpose of this notice is to establish new procedures and guidelines for the Chief's Community Police Advisory Forum (CCPAF).
As a commitment to procedural justice, the Department has instituted the CCPAF to expand community policing, problem-solving, and community engagement throughout the city. The CCPAF is a group of civilian volunteers from the residential and business communities of San Francisco. Its role is to identify actual and perceived issues/challenges affecting their respective community and advise the Department about possible solutions. The CCPAF's overall commitment is to create a forum for open discussion to problem-solve challenges in order to improve the safety for residents, visitors, and communities across the city.
The CCPAF is made up by the Chief of Police, one Department member from the Community Engagement Division (CED), and individuals from the community who each bring unique skills, knowledge, experience, and networks with them. Together, they make up the whole Forum and define its composition.
Please see the attached Chief's Directive for the policy and further information on the CCPAF.
The Department is currently seeking community members to be a part of the CCPAF as a Chief's Community Advisor. Members of the SFPD are encouraged and welcomed to share this information with the communities they serve. Interested community members may complete the CCPAF application, which is currently posted on the Department website. Applications will be accepted for the next 30 calendar days. Please refer interested community members to our Department website for the CCPAF application and instructions.
For additional information, please contact the Community Engagement Division at (415) 575- 6039, or via email at [email protected].
A copy of the CCPAF Chief's Directive and CCPAF Application has been attached to this notice.
