SFPD to Offer Tour of Redesigned SanFranciscoPolice.org Website 19-054

The San Francisco Police Department today will host a live, online tour of its new SanFranciscoPolice.org website, which has been redesigned to provide more access to data and a better user experience.

“As part of our Collaborative Reform Initiative, we made a commitment to the public and our members to transform our department," said SFPD Chief William Scott. "That includes our website. This redesign better represents who we are as a department. By providing more data, online services and easier access to SFPD, I believe our modern, new website will help us increase responsiveness, transparency and trust with the people we serve each day.”

The website was developed in collaboration with San Francisco Department of Technology, the Mayor’s Office and City-approved vendors, utilizing input through focus groups and surveys of SFPD and community members.

"We designed our new website to be a digital extension of our department, with the services and information most requested by the community," said SFPD Director of Technology Susan Merritt. “Whether you are using a PC, a tablet or a mobile phone, we're making it easier to get service, look up data and statistics and connect with your district station and our members."

At 10 AM today, Chief Scott and Director Merritt will host a live, online tour of the website and its features. Viewers can watch a Facebook Live broadcast on the department’s @SFPD Facebook page or view a Periscope feed on the @SFPD Twitter account.
