San Francisco Police Officers Arrest Burglary Suspects 22-139

Officers recover victims stolen property from the suspects  

 Since July 2022 San Francisco Police Department investigators assigned to the Burglary Unit had been investigating a series of residential construction site burglaries that involved a tan Ford pickup truck with a specific license plate and a suspect identified as a 34-year-old male, Luiz Celaya, of San Francisco. On September 15, 2022, investigators working in a plain clothes capacity conducted surveillance on Celaya. 

On September 15, 2022, at approximately 5:08 am, the officers followed Celaya to the 700 block of Ashbury where he and a second suspect committed a burglary of a construction site. The plainclothes officers coordinated with uniformed officers from Park Station who conducted a traffic stop of the suspect vehicle on the unit block of Ord St. Investigators developed probable cause to arrest Celaya and the second suspect, identified as 25-year-old male Gilbert Monter of San Francisco, who was also in the vehicle.  Celaya and Monter were taken into custody. 

During the search of Celaya’s vehicle, officers were able to recover multiple items of property that had been stolen along with items that are commonly used as burglary tools by burglary suspects.   

Monter was booked at San Francisco County Jail on the charges of burglary (459 PC), possession of burglary tools (466 PC), and probation violation (1203.2(a) PC).   

Celaya was booked at San Francisco County Jail on the charges of 4 counts of burglary (459 PC), possession of burglary tools (466 PC), and for committing a felony while on bail or your own recognizance (12022.1(a) PC).
