The Department encourages district stations, bureaus, and individual members who manage SFPD-authorized social media channels to regularly publish information on cases they believe to be of public interest or in which the public's assistance may be requested.

Therefore, members shall include the SFPD case number (whenever available) for all social media posts and other public-facing messages about cases, including newsletters, news releases, or statements. Doing so will assist the Department's management and response to public records requests that often accompany such communications.
