San Francisco Police Department is launching the sixth cohort of Leadership Development Institute (LDI). SFPD is proud to offer this education in partnership with Blue Courage and the SF Police Officers' Association. All ranks, including Professional Staff, are encouraged to apply.
The mission of LDI is to develop shared leadership through interdependence and teamwork. Through facilitated discussions, open respectful dialogue, dynamic engagement, and shared experiences, LDI members will develop a heart set and mindset to lead ourselves and each other in all leadership settings. Each student will have an opportunity to develop through this positive learning environment and gain the following:
- A clear sense of purpose and meaning for their lives
- A shared language of leadership that enhances awareness and accountability
- A sense of curiosity to disrupt mediocrity and challenge the status quo
- The capacity to be more resilient in times of stress and adversity
- A clear pathway to skills required to thrive in personal and professional relationships
LDI consists of 12 sessions (1 per month); hours 0900- 1700. Attire is business casual. To earn the SFPD Recognition Award (DGO 3.09), attendance is mandatory for at least 10 sessions.

APPLICATION PROCESS
Complete the following required items:
- Completed application for LDI cover sheet (see attached)
- A short essay describing what you hope to gain from the LDI experience and how you intend sharing your experience with others (300 word minimum).
All required items are to be e-mailed to redacted Members shall "CC" their Commanding Officer. Application is due no later than 21 days from the date of this notice.
Applicants will be considered regarding the nest steps of the selection process once all applications are received. redacted.
