The Collision Information Card SFPD 19 is now called the Crash Information Card. It was last revised in April 2003. Since that time, there have been changes to California Vehicle Code 16000(a) as well as ongoing public complaints of excessive tow and storage fees by tow car firms throughout San Francisco, a violation of California Vehicle Code 22658 (i)(1)(A). To reflect the updates of the California Vehicle Code and protect the public from excessive tow and storage fees, the following changes have been made to the Collision Information Card:

  • Updated damage amount in excess of $1000.
  • A QR code on the back of the card directing to the San Francisco Police Department's Towed Vehicle Information web page informing the public of their rights as well as current tow and storage fees.

The card will be translated into Spanish, Chinese, Russian, Tagalog and Vietnamese. Members shall immediately begin use of the revised card dated 08/2023 and recycle outdated cards. Cards may be picked up or ordered from Supplies, located in the basement of the Hall of Justice. A copy of the revised card is attached to this notice and can be located in PowerDMS.
