In November of 2023, the City & County of San Francisco hosted the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) which brought world leaders and thousands of visitors to our city. Due to the hard work of our sworn members, who worked hand in hand with numerous law enforcement agencies, San Francisco stood out once again as the world class city by the bay.
To recognize our sworn members for the dedication and professionalism they showed through long hours and cancelled days off, the department has approved a ribbon to recognize the commitment they show every day to our city .
The APEC Ribbon will be available to all sworn members who worked during APEC. The ribbons will be worn on officer's class A jackets or Class AA jackets for Commissioned Officers. It shall be displayed at the end of special event ribbons.
The Police Commission Office will be distributing the APEC Ribbons in the coming weeks to all eligible members.
