The purpose of this notice is to remind sworn members to comply with DGO 5.15, Enforcement of Immigration Laws and SF Administrative Codes 12H and 121, which generally prohibit the use of City resources to assist in the enforcement of federal immigration laws except as required by law.

ICE administrative warrants may now show up during regular warrant checks. Members should pay close attention and separate ICE criminal warrants/holds from ICE administrative warrants/holds in the NCIC Immigration Violator file database. We do not enforce ICE administrative warrants/holds. However, members may enforce criminal warrants after consulting with the Sheriffs Central Warrant Bureau (CWB) and confirming the criminal warrant, per DGO 5.15.
