Gun Buy-Back Event

In partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Violence Prevention Services and the San Francisco Police Department, United Playaz will host a gun buy-back Saturday, December 12, 2020, from 8:00 AM until 12:00 PM at 1038 Howard Street.

The gun buy-back is anonymous, and the purpose is to help make San Francisco streets and homes safer. Previous gun buy-back events hosted by United Playas have yielded hundreds of guns, rifles, and assault weapons.

To ensure the health and safety of everyone involved in the buy-back event, COVID-19 protocols will be in place:

• Staff members will be using PPE.
• The public is asked to wear face coverings or masks when engaging with staff members.
• Persons arriving in cars are asked to transport firearms in the trunk, remain in their vehicles, and open the trunk when directed to do so by staff.
• A waiting area with “socially distanced chairs” will be available for persons who “walk-up” to the site.
• Members of the news media will have a designated staging area.
