On Sunday, July 12, 2026, at approximately 2:09 p.m., San Francisco Police officers assigned to Tenderloin Station were flagged down on the unit block of Turk Street by a rideshare driver who informed the officers that a passenger left a backpack containing suspected narcotics in the vehicle.

Officers searched the backpack and found a large amount of suspected methamphetamine.

Officers developed a plan to work with the driver to arrange for the backpack to be returned to the passenger at the motel where the passenger was staying.

Upon contacting the passenger, officers developed probable cause and placed 41-year-old Sacramento resident Jessie Ottman-Combs under arrest.

During a search of Ottman-Combs’ motel room, officers discovered two cell phones, two tablets, and drug paraphernalia. All the items located in the motel room and the narcotics located in the rideshare vehicle are taken into evidence. In total, 355.7 grams of methamphetamine were seized.

Ottman-Combs was placed under arrest and booked in the San Francisco County Jail on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine (N/W 11378 HS), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (11364(a) HS), and Transportation or Sale of Methamphetamine (N/W 11379(a) HS).

While an arrest has been made, this remains an open and active investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact SFPD at 1-415-575-4444 or Text-A-Tip to TIP411, beginning your message with "SFPD". You may remain anonymous.
