Over the past five years, the SFPD has been focused on the creation of strategies to enact institutional and structural change to achieve racial equity and inclusion.

Using Strategy 1.0 as a guide, the department went on to create the following strategic plans predicated upon key areas of focus.

  • The Community Policing Strategic Plan (October 2018)
  • The Diversity Strategic plan (October 2020)
  • The SFPD Racial Equity & Inclusion Action Plan (REAP) (December 2020)
  • The Bias-Free Policing Strategic Plan (June 2021)

All the above-mentioned strategic plan documents are now available for review in PowerDMS under the "Department Strategic Plans" tab.

I'm pleased to present a video highlighting our achievements and defining the future for strategic planning within the SFPD. I'm proud to work with our members to protect our City and make SFPD an even greater Department. Please always be safe and be well.
