SFPD Arrests Dolores Park Reckless Driver #26-071
On June 20, 2026, a person walked into Mission Station at approximately 7:55 pm to report a reckless driving incident that occurred in Dolores Park earlier in the day. It was reported that a vehicle was driving through the park and on the grass where several people were located. The vehicle left the scene in an unknown direction.
On June 22, 2026, at approximately 3:40 p.m., San Francisco Police officers assigned to Tenderloin Station observed the vehicle that was reported driving recklessly in Dolores Park a few days prior, traveling at an excessive speed southbound on Van Ness Avenue and McAllister Street. When the officers attempted to effect a traffic stop on the vehicle, the suspect failed to yield and continued driving with a willful and wanton disregard for the safety of the public and was lost in the area.
A few minutes later, officers located the occupied vehicle parked on Turk and Larkin streets. When officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle, the suspect again ignored commands and continued driving until he stopped at Post and Webster streets. After repeatedly refusing to comply with officers, the suspect driver eventually exited the vehicle and was taken into custody without further incident. The two occupants of the vehicle that officers detained for the investigation were later released.
24-year-old Justice Ray of San Francisco was later transported to San Francisco County Jail and booked for reckless driving (23103(a) CVC), resisting arrest (148(a)(1) PC), driving in restricted bus transit lane (21655.1 CVC), and driving without a license 12500(a) CVC.
While an arrest has been made, this is still an open and active investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact SFPD at 1-415-575-4444 or Text-A-Tip to TIP411, beginning your message with "SFPD".
