SFPD Continues to Progress in Dismantling Illegal Drug Markets in the City #26-010
Within the month of January 2026, San Francisco Police officers made a total of 106 arrests, seized over a total of 4,800 grams of narcotics, and confiscated 3 firearms during several buy-bust operations and a fugitive recovery operation.
The enforcement included buy-bust operations made by officers within SFPD’s Drug Market Agency Coordination Center (DMACC) areas, as well as a search warrant service that seized 2,729 marijuana plants in the Bayview District. Officers made 53 arrests during the buy bust operations, confiscating 4,586.3 grams of narcotics, including fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine base, heroin, and 2 firearms.
Officers with the SFPD Fugitive Enforcement Recovery Team (FRET) made 53 arrests for outstanding warrants, as well as other drug and firearm-related charges, during a one-day operation held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. These arrests led to a total of 218 grams of illegal narcotics seized and 1 firearm commandeered.
The work by DMACC remains critical as SFPD partners with the department’s local, state, and federal public safety agencies for drug enforcement. Just in 2025 alone, 342 lbs. of drugs were seized, with 6,722 arrests made, including 736 narcotics dealers. In addition, since launching DMACC in May 2023, SFPD officers have seized over 1,025.12 lbs. of narcotics, including 351 lbs. of fentanyl, and made over 12,826 arrests, including 2,399 arrests of drug dealers.
We will continue to prioritize efforts to address the drug crisis in our city by taking wanted suspects off the streets and holding those who sell illegal narcotics accountable.
Although arrests have been made, these investigations remain open and active. Anyone with information is asked to contact the SFPD at 1-415-575-4444 or Text-A-Tip to TIP411 and begin the message with SFPD.
