Our Committment
In 2025, the San Francisco Police Department partnered with Pierce's Pledge to launch the Safe Storage Program for firearms. It is the first time this organization has partnered with law enforcement. The program allows residents to voluntarily store their firearms securely for up to one year at any SFPD district station, with no storage fee.
About Pierce's Pledge
Pierce’s Pledge is a non-profit organization whose mission is to keep children safe during stressful and emotionally volatile times of custody disputes. Members of the family law community take a pledge to communicate firearm risks, ask family law litigants to not only declare weapons and guns they may have in their possession but also request that they store them in a secure off-site location with a third party during a family law case, or as may be required under state or federal law.
