For members who utilize COPLINK X, it is now Crime Tracer. The search technology remains the same, but the product name changed as part of the company’s rebranding. The San Francisco Police Department has approved all sworn members to use Crime Tracer. Crime Tracer is an intuitive and powerful search engine, purpose-built for law enforcement, ensuring that everyone from patrol, analysts and investigators have the information they need, when they need it.

Crime Tracer is an information platform that enables law enforcement to search data from other Law Enforcement agencies across the U.S. using common words and phrases. Participating Law Enforcement agencies’ data such as police reports, dispatch records, booking photos, shot spotter, court records, jail records and vehicle stops are all searchable in Crime Tracer. Searches can be refined by region, agency, date range as well as personally identifiable information (PII).

Members utilizing Crime Tracer to search for "Personally Identifiable Information" (PII), shall adhere to the "Right to Know" and "Need to Know" policy concerning all Information Systems Databases used by the Department. All use of Crime Tracer shall be for law enforcement purposes only. Members shall not furnish information queried from Crime Tracer to another person not authorized to view it.

All sworn members can access Crime Tracer through the MyApps portal located in the CCSF employee gateway.

Non-sworn members requiring access to Crime Tracer shall submit a memo stating the reason for access through their chain of command. The member may contact the Help Desk at redacted, or via email at redacted and supply a copy of the approved memo to obtain access to Crime Tracer.

Online video of self-paced training for Crime Tracer is available at: redacted
