The purpose of this notice is to inform Members that The Neighborhood Safety Team (NST) is a unit within the Community Engagement Division (CED) and will assume the duties and responsibilities of the former SF Safe Inc.

The NST will focus on crime prevention and safety awareness within our communities. With the help of residents, community groups, and other city agencies we are striving to create safe and vibrant neighborhoods to live, work and play in San Francisco.

The NST services will provide people with the tools, skills, and knowledge to help prevent crime and violence in our neighborhoods. Residents will become advocates for safety and wellness in their communities. Services that are provided by the NST will be at no cost to the San Francisco Community. The NST looks forward to collaborating with community members to create a safer San Francisco.

The District Station Captain's Staff and Patrol officers, in collaboration with the NST, may suggest the NST as a resource in the following categories:

  • Neighborhood Watch Groups
  • Personal Safety Presentations
  • Public Transportation Safety Presentations
  • Home Security Assessments
  • Business Security Assessments
  • Park Smart Information
  • Stolen/Lost Bike resources Information.
  • Community Meetings/ CPAB Meetings

Members are reminded to educate the community on the resources that the NST can provide and give our contact information.
