Request for Supervisors Review of Tow and Refund of Tow Fees

Appellant:

If your vehicle has been towed by the San Francisco Police Department, and you feel the tow was Illegal or not authorized by law, you are permitted a hearing by the Department to determine the legality of the tow. If the tow was deemed by the hearing officer to be improper, your fees will be reimbursed by the Controller of the City & County of San Francisco within 30 days of the date of that determination. If the tow was proper, there will be no reimbursement.

The only basis for a hearing is the legality of the tow. If the tow was allowed by law, your disagreement with that law is not cause for appeal. The hearing officer will not take the financial inconvenience of the tow into consideration.
