SFPD Make Arrest in Tenderloin District Homicide 18-152

On November 14, 2018, at 10:24 PM San Francisco Police officers responded to a second floor office on the 1000 block of Market Street regarding a possible deceased person. Upon arrival, the officers found the victim, 52 year-old San Francisco resident, Bart Kylstra laying on the ground suffering from multiple injuries to his head. San Francisco Fire Department paramedics responded and rendered aid, but unfortunately Kylstra succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators from the San Francisco Police Department Homicide detail began an investigation that quickly led to the identity of the suspect. On November 15, 2018 at approximately 5:45 AM, SFPD investigators responded to Richmond, California where they arrested 28 year-old Richmond resident, Kuk Kim.

Following an interview, Kim was booked into San Francisco County Jail for the following charges: homicide, robbery, burglary, possession of stolen property and assault with deadly weapon. Due to pending identification matters, the subject’s photo will not be released at this time.
