Vehicle Versus Pedestrian Collision Leads to Arrest 19-041

On Wednesday April 3rd, 2019, officers responded to the area of Geneva Avenue and London Street regarding a vehicle versus pedestrian collision. Dispatch stated that when the driver of the vehicle exited his vehicle to check on the pedestrian’s well-being, the pedestrian punched the driver in the face, causing the driver fall to the ground unconscious.

Officers observed the assault victim on the curb being assisted by bystanders. The assault victim was transported to the hospital in life-threatening condition.

Officers met with the pedestrian who stated that he was walking in the in the crosswalk when he was struck by a vehicle.  The pedestrian, who was later identified as 25 year-old, San Francisco resident John Mixon, stated that he became upset and struck the driver of the vehicle.  

 

Officers recognized Mixon from a SFPD bulletin as a robbery suspect.  Mixon was placed under arrest for assault, aggravated with force, elder abuse and for two previous robberies.  Mixon was transported to the hospital for further medical evaluation.
