Taraval Station Newsletter - July 26, 2018

On July 17, 2018, officers responded to a collision involving a vehicle versus pedestrian at Sloat and 36th Ave. The vehicle was traveling eastbound on Sloat Blvd when it struck a pedestrian crossing south- bound. Despite the efforts of responding officers and the San Francisco Fire Department Medics, the victim succumbed to his injuries at ZSFGH. The investigation is ongoing and is assigned to our Traffic Collision Investigation Unit (TCIU). This collision while tragic, should be a reminder for everyone to everyone to obey all traffic laws. Don’t drive faster than the posted speed limit, or drive faster than you can react. As a pedestrian, make eye contact with motorists when crossing in front of, or behind a vehicle. Taraval officers are out in force everyday conducting traffic enforcement at specific locations and other locations in the district to help prevent collisions from occurring.
