Suspect Arrested in Arson from Gashouse Cove Dock

On the morning of September 11, 2013, at approximately 6:53 AM, an arson fire was set at the Gashouse Cove Dock on the unit block of Marina Boulevard. It was determined that the fire was set deliberately and the subsequent investigation led Arson Investigators to the identification of a possible suspect.

On the morning of September 12, 2013, the San Francisco Police Department received a tip regarding the arson suspect’s whereabouts. The suspect was taken into custody by uniformed officers and subsequently booked at county jail. The person arrested in this case is Andrew Glenn Rice, 48 years old and a San Francisco resident. He is being charged with arson, possession of a combustible substance with the willful and malicious intent to use, and trespassing. This is still an active and on-going investigation. His booking photo is not being released at this time as witness identifications are pending.
