SFPD Seek Public's Assistance in Locating Assault Suspect

On June 8, 2013 between 12:45 AM and 1:15 AM, the male victim observed what appeared to be a homeless person preparing to spend the night in front of a residence on the unit block of Hancock Street. The victim approached the suspect and asked him to sleep in a different location.

The suspect became aggressive with the victim at which time the victim stated he was going to call the police. The suspect suddenly attacked the victim, knocking him to the ground. The victim sustained serious head injuries and was transported to SFGH. The victim has since been released from SFGH and is recovering from his injuries.

The suspect is described as a white male adult, approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing approximately 200 pounds. The suspect has a heavy build, curly brown hair and was last seen wearing a dark jacket, dark pants and a baseball hat.

If the public observes the suspect they are advised not to contact him and call police.
