On Saturday, May 7, 2022, San Francisco Police Department officers responded to a report of an assault that occurred at approximately 3:13 p.m. at Desmond St. and Sunnydale Ave. Officers arrived on scene and met with the female victim who stated that she was walking by herself at Sunnydale Ave. and Bayshore Blvd. when she saw an unknown male yelling incoherent statements and acting erratically. The victim attempted to cross the street to avoid the male, but the male appeared to follow her. The victim felt unsafe in the situation, so she turned around to get away from the male.

As the victim walked away from the male, the male grabbed her. The suspect then put his hand on the victim’s neck and squeezed her throat, which prevented her from breathing. The suspect continued to assault the victim by pushing her to the ground and yelling incoherent statements. The suspect continued to strangle the victim while he was on top of her as she struggled to get him off, which caused her to lose consciousness. During the attack, the victim heard someone’s voice call out. The suspect stood up from the victim and fled from the scene. The suspect fled on foot toward Sunnydale Ave. and Bayshore where a witness lost sight of him. Responding officers searched the area for the suspect to no avail. Medics arrived on scene and treated the victim for her injuries.

The suspect is described as a male, between the ages of 25 and 29 years old, approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall, 150 lbs., black hair, and last seen wearing a black jacket and black pants. Please refer to the attached images for further suspect descriptions.
