SFPD Makes Arrests in North Beach Residential Burglaries 20-095

Several home burglaries have occurred in North Beach neighborhood, which are believed to be a part of a series

On Monday August 17, 2020 San Francisco Police officers from Central Station
responded to the 800 block of Greenwich Street for a report of a burglary. Officers met
with the victim who told officers an unknown suspect forced entry into the building lobby
and stole his bicycle.


On Monday August 24, 2020 San Francisco Police officers from Central Station
responded to the 1800 block of Filbert Street for a report of a burglary. Officers met with
the victim who told officers that two unknown suspects forced entry into his garage and
stole two bicycles and a motorized scooter.


On Tuesday September 1, 2020 San Francisco Police officers from Central Station
responded to the 1000 block of Lombard Street for a report of a burglary. Officers met
with the victim who told officers an unknown suspect forced entry into her garage and
stole two of his bicycles


Investigators from the SFPD Burglary Unit and the Central Station Plainclothes Team
worked together to identify suspects in each incident.


On Wednesday September 2, 2020 San Francisco Police plainclothes officers from
Central Station were patrolling the area of Pier 27 when they observed three suspects
attempting to steal a bike. Officers detained the suspects. Two of the suspects were
identified as 34 year-old Daniel Cauich and 30 year-old Header Cauich, both of San Francisco. The third suspect was released at the scene.

Daniel Cauich was booked at San Francisco County Jail on one charge of second degree
burglary in connection with the incident on Filbert Street and charges of theft (484(a) PC),
possession of burglary tools (466 PC), and possession of stolen property (496(a) PC) in
connection with the incident on Pier 27.


Header Cauich was booked at San Francisco County Jail on one charge of first degree
burglary in connection with the incident on the 800 block of Greenwich Street and charges
of theft (484(a) PC), possession of burglary tools (466 PC), and possession of stolen
property (496(a) PC) in connection with the incident on Pier 27


On Wednesday September 2, 2020 San Francisco Police officers were patrolling the 400
block of Broadway when the located a male who was identified as a suspect in at least
one home burglary. Officers took 24 year-old Jose Xoolcaamal of San Francisco into
custody without incident. Xoolcaaml was booked at San Francisco County Jail on one
count of first degree burglary (459 PC) in connection with the incident on Lombard Street.
Xoolcaaml was also booked for two local warrants for burglary, receiving stolen property
and possession of burglary tools.


SFPD is investigating several other home burglaries in the North Beach area believed to
be a part of a series. We want to remind residents to take steps to help prevent burglaries
in your neighborhood. Some things you can do is be sure all doors and windows are
locked, install motion lights in your yard, install surveillance cameras, do not leave garage
