SFPD Makes Arrest in Ingleside District Homicide 24-022

On March 13, 2024, at approximately 9:03 a.m., San Francisco Police officers assigned to Ingleside Station responded to the 100 block of Appleton Avenue on a report of a possible burglary.

When officers arrived at the residence, they located an adult female victim suffering from apparent stab wounds.  Officers rendered aid and summoned paramedics to the scene who pronounced the victim deceased.

The San Francisco Police Department Homicide detail took the lead in the investigation. Through the course of the investigation, the suspect was identified as 46-year-old Marceleno Wilson of San Francisco.

Within a few hours, officers located Wilson driving a vehicle in the Ingleside district. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop but the suspect failed to yield, and a vehicle pursuit ensued. The suspect led officers on a chase through city streets and highways which eventually terminated in Oakland California, where the suspect was taken into custody. Homicide investigators developed probable cause to arrest Wilson for homicide.

Wilson was booked into County Jail for the charges of homicide (187 pc), burglary (459 PC) and elder abuse 368(b)(1).

While an arrest has been made, this remains an open and active investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the SFPD tip line at 1-415-575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 and begin the message with SFPD. You may remain anonymous.
