On March 13, 2024, at approximately 9:03 a.m., San Francisco Police officers assigned to Ingleside Station responded to the 100 block of Appleton Avenue on a report of a possible burglary.

When officers arrived at the residence, they located an adult female victim suffering from apparent stab wounds.  Officers rendered aid and summoned paramedics to the scene who pronounced the victim deceased.

The San Francisco Police Department Homicide detail took the lead in the investigation. Through the course of the investigation, the suspect was identified as 46-year-old Marceleno Wilson of San Francisco.

Within a few hours, officers located Wilson driving a vehicle in the Ingleside district. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop but the suspect failed to yield, and a vehicle pursuit ensued. Homicide investigators developed probable cause to arrest Wilson for homicide.

Wilson was booked into County Jail for the charges of homicide (187 pc), burglary (459 PC) and elder abuse 368(b)(1).
