SFPD Makes Announcement Regarding 2022 Pride Parade 22-068

The San Francisco Police Department is committed to not only serving the diverse communities of San Francisco but to embracing the diversity of our members. We recognize the struggles that our LGBTQ+ members have overcome, both within the department as well as outside the department. Our LGBTQ+ members embody the very values of the San Francisco Police Department as well as the City and County of San Francisco. They embrace our strategy statement of “Safety with Respect” and do so in the spirit of dignity, inclusivity, and trust.

The San Francisco Police Department supports the decision of our LGBTQ+ officers. We proudly stand with Mayor London Breed, members of the San Francisco Sheriff’s Office, and San Francisco Fire Department, to not march in the San Francisco Pride Parade. We will be there to support them when the time comes that they return to marching in the parade.  Even though our members may not be marching in this year’s Pride Parade, the San Francisco Police Department will be on hand to ensure that everyone attending and participating in SF Pride Weekend activities enjoys a safe and celebratory Pride Weekend in San Francisco.
