SFPD Makes Additional Arrests in Alvord Lake Homicide

On May 24, 2016 the San Francisco Police Department’s Homicide Detail began an investigation upon the discovery of a body found in Alvord Lake at Golden Gate Park.  The victim, Stephen Williams, a 66 year old male, who struggled with homelessness for many years in San Francisco, was found to be a victim of a brutal assault that occurred over the course of 3 days when he eventually succumbed to his injuries. The Homicide Detail received substantial assistance from members of the community, as well as officer’s working the Park District.  Their assistance was instrumental in being able to arrest Stephen Billingsley, age 19, and Niki Williams, age 36 for their roles in this heinous crime.

Homicide investigators continued their efforts to find everyone involved in Williams death and determined that there were two additional suspects, Sahmanntha Rundstrom, 19 years old and Michael Grasso, 26 years old.  

On, Tuesday, August 23, 2016, the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office assisted in locating Rundstrom and she was taken into custody in Flagstaff, Arizona. Rundstrom will be extradited back to San Francisco from Arizona. 

Grasso was located and arrested in San Francisco on the same day and booked at the San Francisco County Jail for felony homicide and felony death of an elder adult.  

Due to pending identification matters, the booking photos will not be released at this time.
