SFPD Make Arrest in Ingleside District Homicide 18-173

On Saturday, December 22, 2018 at approximately 11:45 PM, San Francisco Police officers responded to the 500 block of Naples Street in the Ingleside district regarding a shooting.  Officers arrived on scene and found a male suffering from a gunshot wound.  The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.  

San Francisco Police Department Homicide investigators commenced an investigation that led to the identity of the suspect.  On Sunday, December 23, 2018, at approximately 11:00 PM, San Francisco Police officers served a search warrant on the 2800 block of 24th Street.  Tactical officers made entry into the home, however the suspect fled out a window to the roof of the home.  The suspect did not initially comply with police orders.  Members from San Francisco Police Department Crisis Hostage Negotiations Team arrived on scene and initiated contact with the suspect.  After a three hour standoff, the suspect was taken into custody without incident.  

The suspect has been identified as 22 year-old San Francisco resident, Jonathan Escobar.  Escobar was booked at San Francisco County Jail for homicide. Due to pending identification matters, the subject’s booking photo will not be released at this time.
