SFPD Investigates Mason Street Homicide 23-100

On Friday, August 4, 2023, at approximately 0031 hours, dispatch received a 9-1-1 call advising that a person had been shot. SFPD officers assigned to Tenderloin Station responded to the area of Mason Street and Eddy Street and located a 37-year-old male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Officer rendered aid and summoned medics to the scene.  

Medics transported the victim to a local hospital for life-threatening injuries. Despite the life lifesaving efforts of officers, emergency responders, and hospital staff, the victim was declared deceased at the hospital.  

Investigators from the San Francisco Police Department Homicide Detail arrived on scene and are leading this open and active investigation.
