SFPD Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit Makes Arrest in Child Pornography Investigation 24-036

In January 2024, members of the SFPD Special Victims Unit-Internet Crime Against Children (ICAC) obtained information and discovered evidence that a 43-year-old male, Peter Sherman, was in possession of Child Sexual Assault Material (CSAM), commonly referred to as child pornography. Based on the ICAC investigation, investigators developed probable cause to obtain an arrest warrant for Sherman for possessing child pornography (311.11(a) PC).

On Thursday, April 18, 2024, members of the SFPD Special Victims Unit, led by ICAC investigators, served a search warrant on the 600 block of Geary.  Investigators took Sherman into custody for the arrest warrant for possessing child pornography and additional evidence was seized.  Sherman was booked into San Francisco County Jail for three counts of possession of child pornography.
