SFPD Arrests Prolific Burglary Suspect #26-075
On April 26, 2026, at approximately 5:08 a.m., San Francisco Police officers responded to a business located on the 1200 block of 9th Avenue regarding a burglary incident. Upon arrival, officers observed damage to the front door of the business. During an initial walk-through of the building, officers determined that the business safe had been rummaged through and that the suspect stole the cash inside of it along with one of the cash registers.
The SFPD Burglary Unit was notified of the incident and took over the investigation. Through the course of the investigation, burglary investigators identified the suspect as Maria Campbell and developed probable cause to obtain an arrest warrant for her. Investigators were also able to connect Campbell to many other burglaries that occurred throughout San Francisco.
On June 12, 2026, the Citywide Plainclothes Team located Campbell on the 100 block of Jones Street and placed her under arrest.
Campbell was later transported to San Francisco County Jail and booked for her outstanding warrant for burglary and for possession of drug paraphernalia (11364(a) H&S). Burglary sergeants also connected Campbell’s involvement to six additional separate burglary incidents and added multiple charges such as numerous counts of second-degree burglary (459 2nd degree PC) and possession of drug paraphernalia (11364(a) H&S). These incidents occurred at businesses located on the 1500 block of Taraval Street, 1700 block of 19th Avenue, 1200 block of 9th Avenue, 2800 block of Diamond Street, 3100 block of Mission Street, and the 1400 block of 18th Street.
While an arrest has been made, this is still an open and active investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact SFPD at 1-415-575-4444 or Text-A-Tip to TIP411, beginning your message with "SFPD".
