San Francisco Police Make Arrest in Tenderloin Homicide 21-007

On Thursday January 7, 2021 at approximately 10:53 pm, San Francisco Police officers from Tenderloin Station responded to the area of Eddy and Mason Streets for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived on scene, they located a 37-year-old male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. This incident was determined to be a homicide and the SFPD Homicide Detail lead the investigation.

Homicide investigators developed information that identified 41-year-old James George of Antioch as the suspect in the shooting. On Saturday January 9, 2021 at approximately 9:54 pm, George was located in the area of 7th and Market Streets. George was taken into custody by officers from the SFPD Tactical Unit without incident. George was taken to San Francisco County Jail and booked on charges of homicide (187 PC), felon in possession of a firearm (29800 PC), assault with a deadly weapon (245(a) PC), and battery (242 PC).
