San Francisco Police Make Arrest in Homicide Case 20-007

On Thursday, January 9, 2020, at approximately 12:45 PM, the parents of 20-year-old Amir Alkhraisat of San Francisco went to Mission Police Station to report that their son had gone missing on Wednesday, January 8, 2020. Investigators determined the disappearance to be suspicious in nature. The SFPD Special Victims Unit assumed lead in the investigation.

On Friday, January 17, 2020, at approximately 11:45 PM San Francisco Police officers from Southern Station responded to the 400 block of Avenue M, located on Treasure Island, on a report of a found body. Officers located a victim who was pronounced deceased at the scene. Members of the SFPD Homicide Detail assumed lead in the investigation. The San Francisco Medical Examiner responded and took custody of the body, which was later identified as the remains of Alkhraisat.

On Thursday, January 23, 2020, San Francisco Police officers arrested 21-year-old Danilo Barraza of San Francisco, in connection with the homicide. He was booked at San Francisco County Jail on one count of homicide. A booking photo accompanies this news release.
