San Francisco Police Make 267 Arrests During 3 Month Tenderloin Narcotics Operation 20-092

In mid-May 2020 the San Francisco Police Department Narcotics Detail and the Tenderloin Station Street Crimes Unit combined their efforts to combat the sale of illegal drugs on the streets of the Tenderloin District.

Between May 18 and August 9, 2020, through the efforts of Tenderloin Station and Narcotics Detail personnel, SFPD officers made nearly three hundred arrests for the sale and possession for sale of illegal drugs. A large number of illegal drugs was seized before it could be sold on City streets.

Listed below are additional facts and figures from this operation:

  • 267 subjects were booked for the felony charge of sales and/or possession for sales, stay away violation, and/or arrest warrants for sales and/or possession for sales (12 juvenile suspects)  
  • 36 of the 267 were arrested at least twice since May 18, 2020, for dealing narcotics, stay away violation, and/or arrest warrants
  • 55 of the 267 dealers were in violation of a court-issued stay away orders (166 PC)  61 of the 267 had at least one outstanding arrest warrant
  •  $144,388.00 in US currency was seized from dealers
  •  7,081 grams of cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin, and fentanyl were seized from dealers, along with 949 prescription pills of Alprazolam, Hydrocodone, Oxycodone, Methadone, and other miscellaneous prescription medication
  •  210 of the 267 have prior San Francisco arrests
  • At least 58 of the 267 reside outside of San Francisco (36 Oakland, 3 Hayward, 3 San Leandro, 2 El Sobrante, 2 Richmond, 2 San Jose, 2 SSF, 1 Austin, TX, 1 Berkeley, 1 Daly City, 1 Los Angeles, 1 Nipomo, CA, 1 Novato, 1 San Mateo, 1 Stockton)  
  • 16 weapons were seized, including 4 brass knuckles, 3 knives, 4 firearms, 1 bat, 1 baton, 2 daggers, 1 metal tool
