San Francisco Police Investigators Seek Public's Assistance in New Year's Day Aggravated Assault Investigation 20-006

Investigators from the San Francisco Police Department’s Night Investigations Unit (NIU) are seeking assistance from the public regarding an aggravated assault that took place outside of a SOMA night club on January 1, 2020, at approximately 1:40 AM.

In this incident, two groups of people became involved in an altercation outside of a nightclub on the 500 block of Howard Street. A 25-year-old male resident of Chico California was stabbed multiple times and transported with life-threatening injuries. He was treated and later released. A 24-year-old male from West Palm Beach, Florida was also stabbed. He was treated and released from a local hospital.

Philip Nguyen, a 26-year-old Oakland resident was booked into the San Francisco County Jail on the charge of assault with a deadly weapon, other than a firearm. His booking photo will not be released due to pending investigative matters.
