San Francisco Police Investigate Senseless Homicide of 6-year-old Bayview Boy 20-068(a)

Update on Investigation as of 07/07/20

On July 4, 2020, at approximately 10:44 p.m., San Francisco Police were dispatched to the 1200 block of Ingalls Street regarding a shooting. Officers arrived on scene and found a 6-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was immediately transported to the hospital for life-threatening injuries. Despite the best efforts of medical staff, the victim succumbed to his injuries. Officers located another victim, a 39- year-old male, at the scene. He was transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

San Francisco Police officers secured the crime scene and initiated an investigation. The SFPD Crime Lab is currently conducting an expedited forensic examination of several pieces of evidence recovered during the investigation. Homicide investigators are continuing to obtain and review video surveillance footage from the area, are actively involved in locating and interviewing additional witnesses to the incident and are currently following up on investigative leads generated from members of the community.
