San Francisco Police Department Arrest Ingleside Homicide Suspect 22-101(a)

On August 3, 2022, at approximately 3:20 pm, San Francisco Police Officers assigned to Ingleside Station responded to Velasco Avenue and Santos Street on a report of a shooting on a bus. 

When officers arrived on scene, they located a 20-year-old male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers rendered medical aid, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Officers later learned a second victim, a 62-year-old female, self-transported to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening injury. Despite lifesaving efforts by Officers, paramedics, and medical personnel the male victim succumbed to his injuries. 

The San Francisco Police Department Homicide Detail took over the investigation.  

During the course of the investigation, the SFPD Homicide Detail identified 23-year-old Ilasa Faalogoifo and 21-year-old Jasmine Taaga of San Francisco as suspects involved in the homicide. Investigators developed probable cause to arrest them and a crime bulletin was disseminated to law enforcement.  

SFPD Homicide investigators received information from the Daly City Police Department of the suspect's location at a hotel in Daly City.  

On November 18, 2022, at approximately 11:10 a.m., SFPD homicide investigators along with San Francisco Police officers assigned to the Community Violence Reduction Team and Crime Gun Investigations Center (CGIC), located Faalogoifo and Taaga at a hotel on the 2900 block of Geneva Avenue in Daly City and took them into custody without incident.  

Investigators obtained a search warrant for the hotel room and seized evidence related to the investigation. 

Faalogoifo was booked at San Francisco County Jail for charges of homicide (187(a) PC), attempted homicide (664/187 PC), and post-release supervision violation (3454(c) PC). 

Taaga of San Francisco was booked at San Francisco County Jail for charges of homicide (187(a) PC) and attempted homicide (664/187 PC).
