San Francisco Police Arrest Tenderloin Triple Shooting Suspect 21-052

On February 14, 2021 at approximately 1:57 AM, San Francisco Police officers from Tenderloin
Police Station responded Turk and Hyde Streets regarding a shooting that just ccurred. Officers
arrived on scene and located three adult male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers
immediately rendered aid to the victims and summoned medics to the scene. Medics arrived on
scene and transported the victims to the hospital. One victim suffered life threatening injuries
and the other victims suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The SFPD Night Investigations Unit (NIU) responded to the scene and took over the
investigation. Investigators discovered that a male suspect was driving a vehicle with a female
passenger and fired a gun at the victims who were standing on the corner at Turk and Hyde
Streets. The suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction. NIU investigators were able to
identify the suspect as 26-year-old male, Robert Hamilton of San Francisco, and advised SFPD
officers of the want for the shooting. Hamilton is currently on Post Release Community
Supervision (PRCS) for Burglary (459 PC) and Hit & Run (20001(A) VC).

On February 27, 2021 at approximately 4:00 PM officers located Hamilton on Jones and Market
Streets. Officers attempted to arrest Hamilton, but he fled on foot to evade capture. After a
brief foot chase the officers were able to stop Hamilton and placed him under arrest. During
the arrest officers located a loaded handgun in Hamilton’s waistband, narcotics, marijuana, and
a large sum of cash in his possession, which were seized.

An NIU investigator obtained a search warrant for Hamilton’s residence located on the 300
block of Arbor Street. Investigators conducted a search warrant service at Hamilton’s residence
and seized additional evidence.

Hamilton was booked into San Francisco County Jail for attempted murder (664/187 PC), three
counts of assault with a deadly weapon (245(b) PC), firearm related charges including
prohibited person in possession of a loaded firearm, possession of marijuana for sales,
possession of controlled substance, and probation violation.

While an arrest has been made, this remains an active and ongoing investigation. Anyone with
