San Francisco Police Are Seeking Public Assistance in Locating Homicide Suspect 21-095(a)

Reissue: Suspect Still Wanted

On May 15, 2021, at approximately 10:08 am, San Francisco Police officers from Bayview District Police Station responded to the area of 25th and Connecticut Streets regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a 61-year-old male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers rendered aid and summoned an ambulance. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

On May 15, 2021, at approximately 12:26 pm, San Francisco Police officers were in the area investigating the earlier homicide when they responded to a report of shots fired on the unit block of Dakota Street. Officers located two adult males suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims, ages 49 and 54, were transported to a local hospital. Despite lifesaving efforts, the 54-year-old victim succumbed to his injuries. The 49-year-old victim remains hospitalized.

Investigators from the SFPD Homicide Detail took over these investigations and identified 32-year-old Robert Newt as the suspect in both incidents. Homicide investigators obtained three warrants for Newt’s arrest, two for murder and one for attempted murder.

Newt is 5’-10” tall and weighs 160 pounds. He is known to frequent the Bayview-Hunter’s Point area. A photo* of Robert Newt accompanies this news release.

Homicide investigators are asking the public’s help in locating Mr. Newt. Newt is considered armed and extremely dangerous. If you see Newt do not approach him. Note his location, clothing, and any vehicle description and immediately call 9-1-1.
