The San Francisco Police Department will hold a graduation ceremony for the 265th Recruit Academy Class, Friday, November 1, 2019, at the Scottish Rite Auditorium, 2850 19th Avenue at Sloat Blvd. at 6:00 PM. The class is comprised of 28 recruits (23 males and 5 females). The 265th graduating class has four members who have earned Master’s degrees, eight have earned Bachelor’s degrees and four have earned Associate’s degrees. Three graduates served in the military- two in the U.S. Marine Corps, one in the Navy. Members of the class have previously been employed as an SFPD Cadet, SFPD Police Services Aide, US Secret Service, certified emergency medical technicians, childcare, personal trainer, dog trainer, reporter, facilities maintenance, machinist, construction and more. Several graduates speak fluently in Spanish, Arabic, Cantonese, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian, Ukrainian, Nepali, Hindi, French, Tagalog, Punjabi, and Urdu. The 265th class completed 32 weeks of training. Following graduation, the newly sworn San Francisco Police Department officers will begin a 16-week field-training program at various district stations.
